Food and Agribusiness

Tasmania offers opportunities for economic growth, jobs and investment in a wide range of agriculture and aquaculture-based industries.

The Tasmanian Government provides a range of advice, support and assistance to the food and agribusiness sector.

The Food and Agribusiness team within the Department of State Growth assists the sector by:

• actively engaging with industry to understand challenges and opportunities
• providing facilitation, advice, information and resources to the industry including advice on funding opportunities, investment, markets, branding and export
• working with other government units and departments to deliver projects and support strategies, with a focus on post-farm gate, value adding and supply chains
• being a conduit to other government departments to assist businesses in finding solutions to relevant issues.
