Advanced Manufacturing and Defence Industries

Funding of $450,000 is available to Tasmanian-based advanced manufacturing enterprises to undertake a variety of productivity enhancing activities such as obtaining accreditations expert advice and developing staff and business skills.

Agribusiness

This program is open to Tasmanian Aboriginal artists who are aged 25 years and under, or in their first five years of artistic practice.

Energy Support

The new Business Energy Efficiency Scheme (BEES) subsidises interest payments against loans for commercial and industrial energy customers to improve their energy efficiency and reduce electricity bills. The scheme will cover the full interest costs on loans of up to $10,000 over the first three years and 5 percentage points on loans of between $10,000 and $60,000 over the first three years for customers who currently use more than 150MWh of electricity per year.

Export

Provides funding support for Tasmanian businesses to expand in both the domestic and international markets.

Efic (Export Finance and Insurance Corporation) may help small business exporters access the finance their business needs to support an export contract when their bank is unable to do so.

The scheme reimburses up to 50 per cent of eligible export promotion expenses above $5,000 (provided that the total expenses are at least $15,000) and provides up to eight grants to each eligible applicant.

This new grant program assists eligible organisations deliver market entry strategies aimed at helping Australian SMEs and stakeholders access FTA target markets. Eligible markets under the FTA-ME Grant include China, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Vietnam, Singapore, Brunei, Canada, Mexico, Chile and Peru.

TFES assists shippers to transport goods by sea, between Tasmania and the Australian mainland, to help reduce freight costs associated with sea transport.

Wine businesses exporting to China, Hong Kong, Macau and/or the USA can now apply for up to AU$25,000 in Australian Government funding for 50 per cent of eligible export promotion activities.

Farm Debt Mediation Grants Program

Applications are now open for the Farm Debt Mediation Grant Program. This program helps farmers with financial difficulties cover costs for mediation under the Farm Debt Mediation Act 2024.

These grants support employers and peak bodies to run projects to increase the literacy and numeracy skills of Tasmanian workers (paid and voluntary).
