Active Tasmania provides funding to increase opportunities for participation in sport and active recreation in Tasmania, and to assist the ongoing development of Tasmania's sport and recreation sector

Advanced Manufacturing Productivity Grant Program (Open)

Funding of $450,000 is available to Tasmanian-based advanced manufacturing enterprises to undertake a variety of productivity enhancing activities such as obtaining accreditations expert advice and developing staff and business skills.

Advanced Manufacturing Accelerating Growth Program (Closed)

This program provides funding for advanced manufacturers to purchase capital equipment.

Advanced Manufacturing Small Business Growth Program (Closed)

This program provides funding for small advanced manufacturers ($150,000 to $300,000 turnover in 21/22) to purchase capital equipment.

Advanced Manufacturing Business Improvement Program (Closed)

This program provides funding for advanced manufacturers to undertake business improvement activities.

Advanced Manufacturing Quality Assurance Program (Closed)

This program provides funding for advanced manufacturers to achieve quality assurance accreditations that will help to retain or expand their customers or markets.

Advanced Manufacturing Skills2Manufacturing Program (Closed)

This program provides funding for advanced manufacturers to develop their workforce through non-accredited training.

Advanced Manufacturing Tender Incentive Program (Closed)

This program provides funding for advanced manufacturers to seek professional assistance to prepare defence and other specialist tenders.

Defence Industry Tender Support Program (Open)

This program aims to assist existing defence and security suppliers, as well as those that are hoping to enter that market.

AgriGrowth Loan Scheme

Do you want to grow your agribusiness turnover, or are you are currently employed as a young farmer, and wanting to progress into your own farm business?

Farm Business Resilience Program

The Farm Business Resilience Program provides highly subsidised training and coaching to help farming businesses to develop business resilience plans, preparing them for sudden changes or difficult times, such as natural disasters, market downturns, or biosecurity incursions.

Tamar Action Grants

The program provides funding to support a range of activities that help improve water quality by reducing pathogen concentrations in the kanamaluka/Tamar estuary.

Aboriginal Arts Program

Provides access to funding for arts projects and activities produced by Aboriginal artists.

Annie Greig Dance Scholarship

Supports Tasmanian dancers aged between 17 and 26 to travel nationally or internationally to undertake professional development.

Provides assistance for self-directed artist residencies and professional, overseas, development opportunities.

Cultural Heritage Organisation

Supports museums, galleries and collections to preserve Tasmania’s movable cultural heritage.

Cultural Heritage Organisations (multi-year)

Multi-year operational support to museums, galleries and collections delivering a range of high quality cultural heritage activities.

Education Residencies

An opportunity for Tasmanian artists to focus on their practice in an educational environment working alongside teachers and students.

Individuals and groups

Supports individuals and groups to undertake projects that enable them to further their careers, enrich their artistic practice and contribute to Tasmania's arts sector.

Low-interest loans

Provides access to low-interest loans for Tasmanian artists and art organisations.

Roving Curators

Provides assistance for the curatorial and collection management practices of public and community collections, art galleries and museums.

Tasmanian Aboriginal Arts Mentoring Scheme

This program is open to Tasmanian Aboriginal artists who are aged 25 years and under, or in their first five years of artistic practice.

Tasmanian Residencies

Supports Tasmanian artists to undertake residencies (four weeks in length) at locations across Tasmania.

Youth Arts Organisations

Supports projects that actively engage young people (aged 0 to 25 years and under) to develop their creative skills and capacities, and enhance their social health and wellbeing.

Business Energy Efficiency Scheme

The new Business Energy Efficiency Scheme (BEES) subsidises interest payments against loans for commercial and industrial energy customers to improve their energy efficiency and reduce electricity bills. The scheme will cover the full interest costs on loans of up to $10,000 over the first three years and 5 percentage points on loans of between $10,000 and $60,000 over the first three years for customers who currently use more than 150MWh of electricity per year.

Provides access to grants to eligible competitions, championships and sporting/gaming events.

Marketing Tasmania Grants

Provides access to grants designed to assist large and small event marketing activity

One-off Assistance Grants

Provides access to grants aimed at increasing winter events in regional Tasmania.

Touring Grants

Provides access to grants to eligible auto, motorbike, cycle and walking tour, event organisers who conduct events during the winter and shoulder seasons.

Accelerating Trade Grant Program

Provides funding support for Tasmanian businesses to expand in both the domestic and international markets.

Efic Small Business Export Loan

Efic (Export Finance and Insurance Corporation) may help small business exporters access the finance their business needs to support an export contract when their bank is unable to do so.

Export Market Development Grants

The scheme reimburses up to 50 per cent of eligible export promotion expenses above $5,000 (provided that the total expenses are at least $15,000) and provides up to eight grants to each eligible applicant.

Free Trade Agreement Market Entry (FTA-ME) Grant

This new grant program assists eligible organisations deliver market entry strategies aimed at helping Australian SMEs and stakeholders access FTA target markets. Eligible markets under the FTA-ME Grant include China, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Vietnam, Singapore, Brunei, Canada, Mexico, Chile and Peru.

Tasmanian Freight Equalisation Scheme (TFES)

TFES assists shippers to transport goods by sea, between Tasmania and the Australian mainland, to help reduce freight costs associated with sea transport.

Tradex Scheme

If your business is importing goods that you intend to directly export or incorporate in other exported goods, you may be eligible for exemptions on customs duty and GST.

Wine Export Grant

Wine businesses exporting to China, Hong Kong, Macau and/or the USA can now apply for up to AU$25,000 in Australian Government funding for 50 per cent of eligible export promotion activities.

Farm Debt Mediation Grants Program

Applications are now open for the Farm Debt Mediation Grant Program. This program helps farmers with financial difficulties cover costs for mediation under the Farm Debt Mediation Act 2024.

26TEN Grant

These grants support employers and peak bodies to run projects to increase the literacy and numeracy skills of Tasmanian workers (paid and voluntary).

Density Incentive Grant Scheme

The program is a Tasmanian Government initiative to help increase the supply and diversity of housing. The Tasmanian Government has committed $10 million to the program.

High Priority Infrastructure Grants - Round 2

Grants of between $50,000 and $500,000 are available for eligible applicants with projects that target the Tasmanian Waste and Resource Recovery Strategy’s priority materials and demonstrate a tangible benefit to the Tasmanian community and the resource recovery sector.

Payroll Tax Rebate Scheme for Employing Apprentices or Trainees

If you are a large company who pays payroll tax you may apply for a rebate if you employ an eligible apprentice, a trainee or a youth employee from 1 July 2017.

This program provides a one-off equity investment for the production of children’s and adults’ animation, feature films, television drama and documentary or factual projects.

Production funding for a project at draft script stage or equivalent.

Traineeships and attachments

A traineeship is targeted, specialist training designed to prepare the trainee for paid employment in a designated role on the production.
