Jakarta Indonesia 20 – 22 November 2022

Indonesia has been identified in the Tasmanian Trade Strategy as a priority country for Tasmanian defence and maritime engagement.

From 20 – 22 November the Minister for Advanced Manufacturing and Defence Industries led a targeted defence/maritime industry mission to Jakarta, Indonesia with three key organisations and businesses.

The trade mission focused on building connections in defence and security industry, simulated maritime rehearsal systems and maritime manufacturing, education and service delivery.

Industry and government delegates continued post the minister led mission to attend additional meetings and participate in the Australian defence Indo Pacific Endeavour Tas Group activity.

The purpose of the mission was to re-engage and build on previous efforts to strengthen relationships, partnerships and cooperation between our government’s and industries, particularly as each nation emerged from the restrictions of COVID-19.
