Transport and Infrastructure

The Transport and Infrastructure Group is made of three divisions and two major project teams: Infrastructure Tasmania Division, State Roads Division, Road User Services Division, and New Bridgewater Bridge.

We are responsible for:

  • delivering a strategic, coordinated and state-wide approach to the planning and delivery of the state’s infrastructure
  • providing access to the transport system to facilitate employment, education, services and social participation
  • managing and maintaining the State Road network as part of an integrated transport system
  • supporting the delivery of the new Bridgewater Bridge
  • planning and delivering major and complex bespoke infrastructure projects for Tasmania
  • providing informed policy advice focused on transport, infrastructure, freight and land use planning
  • delivering policy and programs with the aim of reducing road deaths and serious injuries in Tasmania to zero, and
  • providing fit-for-purpose regulation of the state’s transport system.
