State Growth Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Action Plan 2022 Highlighted Achievements

  • Establishment of the State Growth Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Strategy and 2022 Action Plan.
  • Provided access to the Resilience Project providing resources to support mental health.
  • Senior leadership supported our LGBTIQA+ community, attending the TasPride Walk.
  • Relationships strengthened with key organisations to ensure we are aware of, and maintain best practice, with the Secretary meeting with the CEO of Diversity Council of Australia (DCA).
  • 18 face to face training sessions delivered, covering 5 D,E&I related topics attracted 354 attendees and 8 online diversity related courses attracted 121 attendees.
  • State Growth participated in the Multicultural Tasmania Employer Conference 2022 as both Key Speakers and attendees.
  • 8 graduates and 2 school-based trainees commenced as part of the commitment to youth employment.
  • LGBTIQA+ employee resource group established.
  • Implemented the new Best Fit Recruitment Framework which emphasises understanding and mitigating bias, myths and assumptions.
  • Key resources relating to State Growth Diversity Equity & Inclusion Strategy reviewed, updated and promoted including the external facing website and new iconnect pages.
  • Commenced a 12 month partnership with JobAccess to improve employment, support and retention of employees with a disability.
  • State Growth employees were strongly encouraged and supported to attend the Aboriginal Gathering 2022.
  • Workplace Equality and Respect Standards Action Plan released March 2022 – actions commenced.
  • Acknowledgement to Country adopted across the department in meetings and events, in line with the released and promoted Guide. Business cards with Acknowledgement to Country also distributed.
  • In partnership with Swinburne University, developed respect at work toolkit for managers to support conversations about
  • respect and tackling unconscious bias.
  • Induction module updated to include information about the various D,E&I working groups.
