Bridgewater Bridge takes out major award

The New Bridgewater Bridge project has taken out the prestigious 2025 Australian Construction Achievement Award, presented by the Australian Constructors Association and Engineers Australia.

This award is one of the most significant accolades in the country’s infrastructure sector and a testament to the hard work of our team, lead contractor McConnell Dowell and all of the project’s designers, engineers, subcontractors and local suppliers.

As Tasmania’s biggest ever transport infrastructure project the $786 million bridge welcomed more than 12,000 people to walk to span as part of the official opening on 1 June 2025 and is now a major part of the daily journey for around 22,000 vehicles.

More information on the award and project is available here.
