Common ticketing trial for Derwent Ferry service

A trial of a common ticketing system is now underway on the Derwent Ferry service.

River commuters can now pay for ferry transport with a bank card or smart device, rather than with cash or a card that needs to be pre-loaded with money.

The trial offers payment flexibility for users, further highlighting public transport convenience.

A further field trial for bus services will begin in early 2026.
