Tasmanian wine the toast of Japan

Our state’s growing wine industry received another boost with a showcase on Tasmanian sparkling and pinot noir presented to key Japanese customers as part of the Tasmanian Government’s Trade and Investment Mission to Japan.

A range of Tasmanian wineries currently exporting and those hoping to commence exporting to Japan showcased their wines to Japanese importers, potential customers, wine industry media and representatives from Academie du Vin Tokyo, Japan’s oldest and largest wine school.

The showcase included a masterclass conducted by Jennifer Doyle from Jansz Tasmania and Ms Yoshiko Takahashi, a wine educator at Academie du Vin Tokyo. Attendees were highly impressed with the quality of the Tasmanian wines featured, and a Japanese importer has already expressed interest in one of the brands seeking to enter the Japanese market.
