Tendering and contracts

Tasmanian Government purchasing is conducted by encouraging fair and open competition between suppliers, with the objective of achieving value for money.

Buyers must behave ethically and comply with a code of conduct. They must also enhance opportunities for local businesses and comply with the specific requirements of the government's Buy Local Policy.

For information on the principles upon which Tasmanian Government purchasing is based see purchasing principles.

Buyers must also observe a number of specific purchasing policies. See purchasing policies for further information.
