Wilkinsons Point Precinct

In 2020 the Tasmanian Planning Commission approved a special area plan for Wilkinsons Point with space for sport, recreation, commerce, and cultural activities.

Since 2020, the Wilkinsons Point master plan has progressed, with planning for improved transport options on site, to Glenorchy and the rest of Hobart; and detail within the zones to resolve infrastructure, building and service locations. Transport options include vehicles, pedestrian and bike paths, and a proposed ferry terminal at the northern promontory.

Complementary retail and hospitality are planned for land surrounding MyState Bank Arena and the multi-sport facility, subject to site subdivision, sale and approvals.
