Feedback from the expert peers

The peers gave the following feedback to help current and future applicants:

  • Applications that spoke to how the activity would benefit both the applicant and the broader Tasmanian Aboriginal community were more likely to be supported by the peers.
  • Stronger applications in this round included:
    • Budgets that clearly showed how figures were calculated (including references to industry rate for artist wages and fees)
    • Timelines to show how long the activity would take
    • Confirmations from other artists, organisations, or venues such as galleries
    • Letters of support from appropriate members of the Tasmanian Aboriginal community (especially when dealing with sensitive stories or subject matter)
  • Applicants were reminded to use plain language in their applications.
