Arts Tasmania

How to apply

Arts Tasmania uses SmartyGrants for applications to its grant and funding programs.

SmartyGrants is a free online grants administration system that is used across Australia. To apply to Arts Tasmania’s programs, you will need to create a SmartyGrants account.

You can sign up for SmartyGrants and see a list of open programs here:

Arts Tasmania can also accept hardcopy, video, or audio submissions in place of online applications for applicants with web accessibility issues.

If you are submitting an application outside of SmartyGrants, your application must include:

  • the applicant name and contact details (address and phone number, email if applicable)
  • an activity outline (what you are seeking funding for and why)
  • an outline of who is involved in the activity
  • a grant request
  • support material.

Some applications also ask for a budget that shows all expected income and expenses for the activity.

Please contact Arts Tasmania on 03 6165 6666 or grants@arts.tas.gov.au to talk to a staff member about applying for a grant by hardcopy or alternative methods.

Applications to all of Arts Tasmania’s grant and funding programs must be submitted by 11:59 pm on the closing date. Assessors may not consider any late applications.

Please contact Arts Tasmania on 03 6165 6666 or grants@arts.tas.gov.au if you have any questions about SmartyGrants, or want to learn more about other application methods.

You can also book an online meeting with an Arts Tasmania staff member through Microsoft Teams using Bookings.
