Dana Faletic

Dana Faletic represented Tasmania in rowing with distinction, competing in seven State teams, acquiring numerous National Titles and winning medals in both World Championships and the Olympics, including bronze at the Athens Olympics.

In 2003 Dana won gold at the World Rowing Championships in Italy in the Women’s Quad Scull. This lead to Dana being named as the 2003 Tasmanian Institute of Sport Athlete of the Year and Female Athlete of the Year (co-winner with fellow Tasmanian and team mate Kerry Hore), a member of the Australian Institute of Sport Team of the Year and ACT Clubs AIS Sportstar Awards.

After competing in the 2006 World Rowing Championships in England and winning silver with the Women’s Quad Scull, Dana semi-retired.

After having a child, Dana staged a comeback and, as the mother of a three-year-old, Dana achieved one of her proudest sporting achievements – selection for the 2012 London Olympic Games in the Women’s Quad crew that achieved fourth place.

Dana maintains a keen and active interest in women’s sport and recreation.
