Clint Freeman

Even as a junior archer it was evident Clint Freeman was on target for a great archery career.

As an under-18-year-old, Clint Freeman reset 108 Tasmanian records, was the highest scoring Australian junior and was the first Tasmanian Grand Master Bowman which he attained in open division at the age of 17 by achieving 1300 FITA Star from a possible 1440.

Clint was the first Tasmanian to hold a national title in archery and the first Tasmanian selected for an Australian archery team.

Clint set over 250 Tasmanian and Australian records leading up to 1994, set a new world record at 70 metres in 1994, set a new world record for the team round in Indonesia in 1995 and reset about 18 national tournament records in 1996.

In 1997, Clint continued to break more official records including the World Record 30 metres on 22 February 1997 when he shot 351 points at the Victorian State Championships. The following day he broke that record by shooting 353 points. In 1998 he shot five world records in one day and became the first archer in the world to shoot 1400 points or higher in the 1440 round (Shot 1409 points).

Clint represented Australia in represented Australia from 1992 until 2010. During his career he won four gold medals, four silver and five bronze medals in international championships, including the World Target Championships, World International Field Archery Association (IFAA) Championships, New Zealand National Championships, Bulgarian Grand Prix and United States National Match play Championships.
