Nomination Sporting Hall of Fame

Who is eligible?

To be considered a person must meet the following criteria:

  • have achieved outstanding performance in sporting competition while either identifying themselves as Tasmanian  or acknowledging Tasmania as their home
  • have participated in open competition at the highest level of their sport
  • be retired from that level of competition for a minimum period of four years
  • have exhibited a standard of behaviour that is fair, ethical and above reproach in relation to the rules and regulations of their sport and the community’s expectations.

No distinction is made between amateurs and professionals or males and females.

Nominations can be made for athletes from any period of time.  However, evidence will be required of their achievements  with suitable records.

Individuals considered for induction have, typically, represented Australia with a medal-winning or equivalent outstanding performance in their sport.

Assessment

Nominations will be considered by the Tasmanian Sporting Hall of Fame judging panel. Nominators will be advised of the outcome of their nomination. The judges’ decisions are final and no communication will be entered into regarding the judging of the nominations.

When preparing a nomination please provide as much detail as possible about the sportspersons performances. Supporting documentation is welcome.

Nominations for the Tasmanian Sporting Hall of Fame 2024 will be open from 1 July 2024.

No late nominations will be accepted.
