Local Government Area Climate Profiles

Local-level climate information is available to assist councils, resource managers and businesses to better understand the expected climate changes in their area and adapt to these changes.

The profiles below were developed in 2010 by the Antarctic Climate and Ecosystems Cooperative Research Centre for the Climate Futures for Tasmania project. The local profiles include information on past and current climate, as well as forecast changes to temperature, rainfall, runoff and extreme events. The profile for each local government area can be downloaded in PDF format.

There have been advances in climate change science in the past decade since these projections were first released. The Tasmanian Government has committed to update the State's climate change projections as part of Tasmania's next climate change action plan.
