Tasmania’s Strategic Infrastructure Framework

Infrastructure Tasmania is drafting a Strategic Infrastructure Framework following a review of the state’s draft 30-Year Infrastructure Strategy.

In 2019, we released a draft infrastructure strategy for consultation. Given the significant changes in economic and social impacts since then, now is the time for a renewed approach.

Infrastructure Tasmania is leading the development of a Strategic Infrastructure Framework to uphold the strategic vision of ‘providing infrastructure that enables a prosperous and sustainable Tasmania, where communities, industries and the economy flourish.’

The framework will set out principles that provide a guide to best practice in prioritising, planning, designing, and delivering infrastructure projects that support productivity, economic growth community wellbeing, and enhanced sustainability and resilience.

The framework will also aim to generate a collaborative approach to infrastructure planning across the Tasmanian Government, local government and private investors.
