Craig Walton

Craig Walton is one of Australia’s greatest triathletes and at the height of his career in the late 1990s and early 2000s, was one of the world’s best.

His swim/bike combination was unbeatable and the key element to his success.

He made the World Cup podium 12 times, winning on six occasions and is one of only six men to win at least one world cup title in four consecutive years.

He won Silver at the Goodwill Games in 1998 in Canada.

He was also a four time Australian champion, won bronze at the International Triathlon Union (ITU) Triathlon World Championships in Perth in 2000, represented Australia at the Sydney Olympics and is a three time winner of the Chicago Triathlon and twice winner of the Los Angeles Triathlon.

Craig also won the Noosa triathlon on a record six occasions and holds the course record for the event.

Following retirement Craig became a very successful coach guiding Emma Snowsill to three World Championship victories, a Commonwealth Games Gold Medal and an Olympic Games Gold Medal.
