Belinda Goss

Belinda Goss paved the way for young Tasmanian female cyclists to go onto the world stage.

Belinda was the first Tasmanian female to ever compete in track cycling at international level and is the only Australian to have won three consecutive bronze medals in the World Championships in the Women’s Scratch Race.

Belinda started competing at 13 years of age and successfully represented Australia in junior and senior track and road competitions. In 2002, Belinda came third in the Junior World Track Championship in Moscow.

Belinda had an outstanding year in 2007 with four silver medals in World Cups Scratch Races, Point Score and Team Pursuit events.

Belinda was a highly respected cyclist at international level. She won 15 Australian National Titles, represented Australia at the Commonwealth Games, won World Cup Gold on the track and a regular on the podium at World Cup level.

During her career, Belinda received a number of Awards including the Tasmanian Institute of Sport Female Athlete of the Year 2010, Australian Female Junior Road Cyclist of the Year 2002, Tasmanian Cycling Female Rider of the Track Season 2001/2, and Tasmanian Rider of the Year under 19 in 2001.
