Major investment projects

Projects such as Battery of the Nation, Project Marinus, variable renewable generation via wind and solar, and renewable hydrogen are advancing Tasmania’s position as a leader in renewable energy.

This success translates to tangible benefits for all Tasmanians, driving investment stimulus and statewide prosperity, giving locals access to the lowest possible power prices, creating much-needed jobs and boosting our island’s economy. And, thanks to the Australian Government, we’ve already partnered together on the Energising Tasmania project to start building the skills and training needed to support our renewable energy and related sectors.

These projects have significant national benefits too. They secure low-cost, reliable and clean energy for the mainland and are expected to contribute to Australia’s emissions reduction commitments - a reduction of 25 million tonnes of emissions by 2030 - in a big way..
