Energy grants to assist small businesses

One-off grants of $1 000 are on offer to support eligible businesses with their energy costs during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The grants are for embedded network customers that get their utilities provided directly from a landlord or building owner like shops in a shopping centre, tenants in managed office accommodation or leaseholders at a business estate.

It’s hoped many Tasmanian businesses will benefit from the grants announced by the Tasmanian State Government at the weekend,  including hairdressers, florists, newsagents, food stores and more.

There’s also help from Aurora though a $5 million package being rolled out to assist customers with bill relief during the pandemic with the waiving of fees or charges and a range of other support measures.

Applications for the grants close on Monday, 26 October 2020, unless available funds are allocated prior.
