Delivering trade and business opportunities with New Zealand

New Zealand is one of our most important trading partners, with annual exports already valued at about $100 million, and the trade mission – Tasmania’s first since the COVID-19 pandemic first hit in early 2020 - will showcase everything our State has to offer and further grow our cooperative trading relationship.

The trade mission will take place from 31 July 2022, spanning across four days. It will cover the main centres of Auckland and Wellington, along with visiting the Tasman Nelson region to explore new trade and investment opportunities.

It will identify emerging opportunities for growth in a number of key sectors, including advanced manufacturing, defence, food, agribusiness, energy, and our world-class tourism industry.

Tasmanian businesses and organisations will be selected to be part of the delegation, which will involve meetings with major buyers, retailers and distributors, and the facilitation of a Tasmanian trade and tourism showcase.

Businesses selected to participate will be provided the opportunity to engage in personalised industry and government introductions, marketing opportunities, and have the chance to learn more about the New Zealand market and consumer demand.

An initiative of the newly released New Zealand Integrated Trade Strategy, the Tasmanian New Zealand Trade Mission is a key part of meeting our overall international trade target of $15 billion by 2050.

Tasmanian businesses interested in participating in the mission and export activities with New Zealand are invited to register their interest registering at New Zealand Trade Mission 2022 - Department of State Growth (smartygrants.com.au)
