Tasman Bridge update

The Tasman Bridge is set to receive its first major upgrade since 1975 with $130 million committed by the Australian and Tasmanian governments.

The concept designs, released for public comment in late June 2022, include improvements such as 3.5m wide pathways on each side of the bridge, higher safety barriers and feature lighting -- all of which will make active transport across the bridge safer and more accessible. The upgrade will also include an automated lane use management system to help with lane control during peak hours to improve traffic flow.
