T21 Visitor Economy Plan 2020 – 2022 launched
During August Cultural and Tourism Development joined a number of tourism and hospitality operators for the launch of T21 Visitor Economy Plan 2020 – 2022.
As you can imagine, the mood in the room was very different to past years with the sector having been one of the hardest hit by the COVID-19 pandemic and with many challenges still ahead.
However, the industry’s resilience, optimism and innovation was unmistakable as we look to the future and map a pathway to recovery that rebuilds tourism as a key pillar of our economy.
We worked closely with Tourism Tasmania, the Tourism Industry Council Tasmania (TICT), the Tourism Hospitality Association (THA) and industry to develop the plan.
The plan charts a set of commitments focused on rebuilding visitation, re-establishing air and sea access and supporting tourism business owners and their workforce. When it is safe to reopen our borders, we will be ready.
The priorities will be delivered through six monthly action plans, the first one was released today. These plans will be reviewed regularly to ensure they continue to be responsive to our changing environment.
