Export Awards 2021

The Tasmanian Export Awards 2021 were held at the paranaple convention centre  in Devonport on 24 September 2021 and hosted by the Minister for Trade, the Hon Guy Barnett, MP.

During 2021, many Tasmanian exporters developed new and innovative ways to engage with international markets. Accordingly, the awards gave recognition to resilient business confidence despite the COVID-19 pandemic, and the contribution of exports to jobs growth and the Tasmanian economy.

Congratulations to our 2021 state winners across all categories:

  • Advanced Technologies | Lightning Protection International
  • Agribusiness, Food and Beverages | Tasmanian Oyster Co.
  • E-Commerce | Scoot Boot
  • Emerging Exporter | Lawrenny Estate Distilling
  • International Health | Selborne Biological Services
  • Manufacturing & Advanced Materials | Ignite Digi
  • Regional Exporter | Blue Hills Honey
  • Small Business | Hill Farm Preserves
  • Sustainability | True South Seafood
  • Minister's Award for Young Exporter of the Year 2021 | Jelina Bennett (Aqua Clean Tas)
  • Minister’s Award for Export Leadership 2021 | True South Seafood

Congratulations to True South Seafood who took out the Minister’s Award for Export Leadership 2021 in a highly completive field and went on to win the national Sustainability award at the 59th Australian Export Awards, hosted by Austrade.

True South Seafood harvest pure abalone and sea urchin from the waters surrounding Tasmania. Judges were particularly impressed with their success in pioneering a new Tasmanian export product from sea urchins while simultaneously combatting a harmful invasive species.

About the 2021 Export Awards

  • Over 200 guests from across the state were in attendance, the highest number for any local Tasmanian trade event to date
  • It was the first time the awards have been hosted outside of Hobart or Launceston
  • Tasmania celebrated record exports and economic performance, despite a challenging year due to COVID-19
  • Tasmania was one of only two jurisdictions which saw an increase in applications in 2021.

We wish to extend a big thank you to our 2021 sponsors:
