Feedback from the expert peers

The peers gave the following feedback to help current and future applicants:

  • Applicants were encouraged to speak to Arts Tasmania’s Program Officer - Aboriginal Arts before submitting an application.
  • Applications that clearly stated the specific outcomes that would be achieved through securing funding were more likely to be supported by the peers.
  • Peers recommended that applicants consider how partnerships could strengthen or support a proposed activity.
  • Applications that involved confirmed partnerships and included information around the benefits and impacts of these partnerships were more likely to be supported.
  • The stronger applications included letters of confirmation from other artists and/or organisations involved in the activity – especially those in key roles such as mentors.
  • The peers recommend that other Tasmanian Aboriginal artists join Arts Tasmania’s Cultural and Creative Industries Expert Register to gain experience in the assessment of applications.
