Art Fair Industry Development Initiative 2019- 20

The Art Fair Industry Development Initiative supports Tasmanian commercial galleries to represent local artists at key national markets.

To be eligible to apply, commercial galleries must be a current or pending participant in the COLLECT Art Purchase Scheme and provide written confirmation from the curatorial team at either the Sydney Contemporary or the Melbourne Art Fair.

The Minister for the Arts has approved funding of $21 500 for two galleries to attend Melbourne Art Fair in June 2020:

  • Michael Bugelli Gallery - $ 8 300 towards attending Melbourne Art Fair
  • Despard Gallery - $13 200 towards attending Melbourne Art Fair

Funding recommendations were made by expert peers drawn from the Cultural and Creative Industries Expert Register.
