Support Trade Logistics and Market Access
Access to markets is critical to export success, and improving market access is vital for supporting vibrant and competitive sectors. The Tasmanian Government is committed to supporting Tasmanian businesses to navigate these factors by:
- appointing a market access coordinator to provide information to the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and the Department of Agriculture, Resources and Water (DAWR) on Tasmanian market access priorities, to inform and liaise with DAWR to address technical issues that affect Tasmanian exporters and support the improvement and maintenance of current key access protocols through international engagement.
- establishing a Logistics Advisory Service to support Tasmanian freight and logistics users to optimise freight and logistics services, develop new freight channels and identify potential cost saving initiatives
- establishing a supply chain program in partnership with AusIndustry and Enterprise Centres Tasmania to offer small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) practical ways to strengthen their supply chain and improve access to new markets.
