Showcase Tasmania in Priority Markets

The Tasmanian Government has identified six initial markets for broad strategic engagement where we will build trade links and brand presence; China/Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, United States, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia and the Australian domestic market. Additionally, we will continue with focussed, sector-specific strategic engagement in markets including India, Taiwan, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Indonesia, South Korea, the European Union and Latin America.

Key supporting actions include:

  • extending in-market presence through the placement of a Business Development Manager (BDM) in the United States, Japan and Singapore to connect Tasmanian businesses to key global markets
  • coordinating cross-sectoral, ministerial-led trade missions focusing on our international strategic markets
  • supporting in-bound delegations seeking trade opportunities in Tasmania
  • developing a one-stop export directory that includes sector and market search functions.
