China Academy of Agricultural Sciences and Tasmania

The Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS) is a world-class agricultural research institute and a significant employer of scientific talent in agricultural science and technology in China. Agriculture is one of Tasmania’s competitive strengths and a key pillar of the Tasmanian economy. The Tasmanian Government is very supportive of a strong partnership between CAAS and key entities in the agricultural space in Tasmania, the University of Tasmania (UTAS) and NRM South.

The Tasmanian Government’s facilitation of inbound CAAS delegations in 2017 and 2018, and its high level discussions with CAAS, UTAS and NRM South during a recent Ministerial-led Trade Mission to China are examples of activities that have taken place to support this important international relationship.
