The Trade and International Relations Unit supports Tasmanian businesses and industries to establish, grow and expand their markets, both nationally and internationally.
Around half of Tasmania's products are sold either interstate or overseas and many of our service industries are similarly trade exposed, driven by a targeted promotion of our Tasmanian brand. More trade equates to a stronger, growing economy, delivering more jobs for Tasmanians.
To capitalise on Tasmania's growing export markets, a project to develop Tasmania's first ever Trade Strategy is underway. Following extensive consultation across business, industry and government, a draft was prepared and made available for review and feedback. The Strategy is currently being finalised. Read more
