Trade Missions and Trade Shows

Trade at State Growth is committed to providing direct in-market connections for Tasmanian businesses to grow in national and international marketplaces across priority trade sectors.

Tasmanian engagement events such as trade missions and trade shows provide Tasmanian businesses with the direct opportunity to explore, expand and maintain meaningful partnerships and build brand awareness for their products and services.

Tasmanian businesses are required to complete an expression of interest to participate in current trade engagement events. Applicants will be notified post submission should they be successful.

Trade Missions

Trade missions are government-led programs designed to take Tasmanian businesses and organisations to key international markets. They provide a forum for your business or organisation to:

  • connect with international buyers, distributors, trading partners and business leaders
  • enhance your international profile and showcase your business’ capabilities
  • secure international orders for your product and/or service
  • develop knowledge of international markets in areas including pricing, promotion and distribution strategy, and cultural nuances
  • understand regulatory requirements in international markets.

Trade missions are tailored to the needs of businesses that join. Trade at State Growth works closely with Austrade and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) to arrange briefings and functions, site visits, product promotions and business matching that are relevant to your business.

Trade shows

Trade shows provide Tasmanian export-ready businesses with a direct opportunity to establish and retain in-market connections. They enable you to explore, expand or maintain market presence.

The Tasmanian Government hosts Tasmanian stands in partnership with industry at important national and international trade events. A united Tasmanian stand provides the opportunity to leverage the highly respected Tasmanian brand and to benefit from organisational, promotional and cost efficiencies gained through sharing a pavilion.

In some cases, the Tasmanian Government will partner with Austrade on larger exhibitions that showcases a region.

Defence Tasmania events

The Tasmanian Department of State Growth also supports Tasmanian businesses to access defence industry opportunities, through participation at defence specific events under the ‘Defence Tasmania’ banner.

Submit your expression of interest in trade industry engagement events now via the ICN Gateway.
